Welcome to Morning Open Thread, a daily post with a MOTley crew of hosts who chose the topic for the day's posting. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum.
The diarist gets to sleep in if she wants to, and she can show up long after the post published. That is a feature, not a bug. Other than that, site rulz rule.

In a sense, aquaponics is actually very old, but recently new technologies have made it far more space efficient. Ironically, it uses less water than conventional farming. Its a method of farming that produces both fish and vegetables.
Something about it which is even better is that it represents a closed system of resource production. What I mean by this is that you are using the wastes the fish give off to feed the plants. It’s a method of production that doesn’t do much damage to the environment at all because the wastes are being consumed.
Have a good morning everyone.
