I think someone in Jenner’s family has grounds for a lawsuit here. Clearly the poor dear was oxygen deprived during surgery. How else to explain this bit of lunacy?
Caitlyn Jenner made a surprising declaration during an interview with The Advocate on Wednesday, March 2, telling the publication that she supports Republican Ted Cruz for president despite some of the questionable things he’s said about the LGBT community.
I don’t think anyone questions what Ted thinks of the LGBT community. But that is not the weird part.
“I like Ted Cruz,” she said. “I think he’s very conservative, and a great constitutionalist and a very articulate man. I haven’t endorsed him or anything like that. But I also think, he’s an evangelical Christian, and probably one of the worst ones when it comes to trans issues.”
OK….. so you’re conflicted? Now I’m confused. By the way, what exactly do you like about the guy more than, say, Bernie Sanders, a long time champion of trans rights?
I get it. The Democrats are better when it comes to these types of social issues. I understand that.” So why support Republicans? “Number 1, if we don’t have a country, we don’t have trans issues.”
Ok….. looks like that train of thought may have gotten a little derailed. Anything else?
The I Am Cait star, 66, even suggested that perhaps it could be a great partnership if she worked with Cruz, 45, once he was in office.
Oh Boy! How would that work, exactly?
“Wouldn’t it be great, let’s say he goes on to be president,” she said, “and I have all my girls on a trans issues board to advise him on making decisions when it comes to trans issues. Isn’t that a good idea?”
At that point in the conversation, journalist Dawn Ennis asked Jenner to clarify.
“You’re going to be Ted Cruz’s trans ambassador?” Ennis asked.
“Yes, trans ambassador to the president of the United States, so we can say, ‘Ted, love what you’re doing but here’s what’s going on,’” the reality star said.
Someone needs to explain to Jenner that ambassadors go through confirmation hearings. They don’t get to appoint themselves. Having said that, you gotta admit those confirmations hearings would be no more bizarre than anything else Ted Cruz has been involved with lately.
