Cruz Gets A Pass?
All the hysteria and damnation around Donald Trump is appropriate. The reports of his bad acts, past-present-future read as all true, all frightening. What bothers me though, is the end result of Trump-hysteria results in Ted Cruz getting the nomination in a mobilized Republican electorate.
Cruz is dangerous, I am not at all confident he will be a safer leader of the armed forces. I am convinced he will do his best to put Bibles in classrooms, destroy women’s healthcare, turn back civil rights of Moslems, Hispanics, African Americans, LBGT.
Cruz will certainly turn large tracts of public land over private concerns, he will promote big oil, resist self-sustaining energy projects. He has vowed to destroy the ACA and the opportunity for millions to have access to health care. I doubt he is interested in the flight of trillions of dollars, millions of jobs, to foreign soil.
Infrastructure? Forget it...Cruz will.
It’s difficult to think of preferring Trump to Cruz, but on a number of issues above, Trump has spoken relatively sanely. Trump openly states he is open to changing his mind when informed on an issue. I certainly have no reason to believe Cruz will treat the Moslem world with dignity or respect, or resist new mandates for torture. His fundamentalism includes worship of the Israeli military.
In other words, there is no better option between the two. We must get out the vote and win this election.
