What a character! Hilary Clinton is beyond redemption. Her lying will never stop. Whenever she feels the need to pander she pulls out a real stinker. I am completely disgusted by her constant BS.
She lied about Sanders support for the auto industry bailout. This time she was demagoguing the local Michigan crowd. Clinton said Bernie Sanders voted against the auto bailout. Of course he did no such thing. It was a low blow and a smear.
In her mind his vote against Wall Street bailout was a vote against the auto bailout. She said that was the money that went for the auto industry bailout. Problem is, nobody could have known that at the time. That bill was specifically to appropriate money for the Wall Street bailout and nothing else when it came up for a vote. President Bush later misappropriated the funds for the auto industry bailout.Notably, Mr. Sanders vote on the Wall Street bailout same as her buddy Senator Debbie Stabenow — against the bank bailout.
Now is she trying to tell us Debbie Stabenow, the Senator from frickin’ Michigan voted against the auto bailout?
She lied about gun industry immunity. The whole business about Sanders voting for immunity for gun manufacturers is fraught with bullshit. While her people — Wall Street, crooked hedge funds like Franklin, etc. — have de facto immunity, gun manufacturers do not. Despite the hue and cry, which is just smoke, manufacturers can be, and they still are, subject to being sued if they are negligent, just like anybody else or any other industry. People often recover in those suits. The text of the law authorizes suits against manufacturers and sellers (including direct sales by manufacturers) when there is:
(1) Negligent entrustment
(2) Negligence per se
(3) Knowing or willful violation of any State or Federal statute applicable to the sale or marketing of the product and the violation was the proximate cause of the harm
(4) An action in which a manufacturer or seller of a qualified product knowingly and willfully violated a State or Federal statute applicable to the sale or marketing of the product, and the violation was a proximate cause of the harm for which relief is sought
(5) An action for physical injuries or property damage resulting directly from a defect in design or manufacture of the product, when used as intended.
In no sense is that immunity. The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Firearms Act in no sense grants such an immunity. It specifically authorizes suits against sellers:
She lied about fracking. Another pathetic lie when she said I am against fracking when there is local opposition. Since when? As Secretary, she pimped and arm twisted for fracking and filthy shale deals - even when the locals had a ban in place. So much for I am against fracking when there is local opposition. Reading suggestion: “How Hilary Clinton’s State Department Sold Fracking to the World” in Mother Jones, in case you missed it.
She equivocated about fracking. “I am against fracking when it foul the water.” News flash to Madame Secretary, fracking fouls water. Not to mention earthquakes — all of a sudden Oklahoma has more earthquakes that anywhere on earth! What! Fracking also causes noise and light pollution, and uninhabitable residential areas. It doesn’t belong in anybody’s backyard.
She wasn’t lying about pipelines leaking, Except that as Secretary of State she recommended Keystone XL. Way to fix the problem — build another big dangerous pipeline over critical aquifers to import filth so Transcanada can monetize its pollution.
Why doesn’t Madame Secretary say I am against fracking? Her family’s charitable foundation takes lots of oil money. Big oil companies like ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips have given millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation, as have Saudi Arabia and other oil-rich nations in the Middle East.
She does support clean cook stoves for poor women. Good idea, maybe a tad too incremental.
