Just this morning, Hillary Clinton had upwards of a 22 point lead in Michigan. Nate Silver gave her a 99% chance of winning, not just by a bit, but heavily. At the time of this posting, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is up by 5 points with 40% reporting. That lead is likely to fluctuate over the evening, to be sure. The total votes haven’t been counted yet.
Here’s the thing: this was never fucking supposed to happen. Everyone outside of the Sanders Camp had predicted a rout in Michigan. Or, at least, a very convincing win for Hillary Clinton. This is yuuuuge. To be perfectly honest, if Clinton wins tonight by a couple of points after every vote is counted, she gave Sanders yet one more reason to stay in the race. If the numbers stay relatively the same, that would be a 26 point swing in Bernie’s favor in one fucking day. Check yo’ rec list. It was there.
Hillary was supposed to win this state in a landslide. You won’t hear that tomorrow from your local media outlets. Just like you didn’t hear anything about Kansas or Nebraska or Oklahoma. Any time Sanders wins a state, it was, in spite of the polling, supposed to happen. Ya know what’s happening? There’s people all over the country that are sick and fucking tired of the way the establishment is running shit. We’re not just tired, we’re bent.
Bernie Sanders: Not Me, Us.
