More people have contributed to Bernie Sanders' campaign than to any campaign in our country's history, and the strong and steady influx is not going to stop.
Bernie is invigorating voters like few American politicians have ever done.
He's an enormously dedicated, consistent and genuine person, and as such a great many people look up to him and work hard for him, and from what I've seen most of us tend to mirror those qualities. Dedication most of all. Plus Bernie is talking about certain things that for good reason are immensely popular and inspiring, but which few American politicians dare to talk about openly. Put simply, he's making clear to us how we've been robbed blind for the last thirty years or so, and he's also making clear who owns the blame for it and how serious he is about meaning to change. He's telling the truth, and people are believing him.
The results of this combination of person and message have seen that message spread like a fire through a bone-dry wheat field.
Look how far it spread with so little help from the MSM. They had to be led by the nose to giant crowds teeming with adoring people. They stayed fixated on just about anything else they could find until they admitted that yeah… I guess… maybe the old guy’s incredible success was newsworthy.
And then he won Michigan. When, one terran revolution or so previous, the polling average had him 20 points behind.
Given his previous victories and near-victories after being behind I think we can see a clear pattern there, and a clear path.
Let's keep something in mind: Bernie’s fame and name-recognition have plenty of room to grow, and relatively speaking he's still very little known. And of course the now-familiar saying remains true: The more a person knows Bernie Sanders the more that person likes Bernie Sanders.
Well the vast majority of the American electorate have still never heard of him, and that saying will not be less apt as more and more people know his name. The American people will like what they see in Bernie. Look how far he's come already. Look at what his campaign has achieved despite a virtual media blackout. They counted him out from the word go, and he's now won 9 states. Yesterday he won my home state of Michigan. Where he was 20 points down only the day before.
Give him the nomination and there won't be any more excuses.
Give Bernie's message the full glare of the media spotlight and the Bern will spread from coast to coast. Those turnouts, amazing as they are, are poised to get a lot bigger.
That is what Bernie means when he talks about a political revolution.
