There are warning signs on Hillary’s rough road toward that elusive nomination. Warning signs for the Democratic establishment, warning signs for Wall Street, warning signs for the profiteers and the polluters and the shock doctrine capitalists, warning signs for the billionaires and the bigots and the bankers, warning signs for the corrupt corporations and killer cops and candidates of the corrupt status quo.
WARNING . . .
Democracy is rising on the East Coast, it’s rising on the West Coast, it’s rising everywhere in between.
Hillary is busy spinning, her surrogates are busy spinning, Kos is busy spinning every Hillary supporter here is busy spinning, but spinning isn’t winning.
Seven primary defeats in a row for Hillary is seven primary defeats in a row for Hillary.
And there are more on the way.
Bernie’s message of empowerment is being heard across the state of New York, people are hearing it, people are welcoming it, people are being energized by it, people are joining together in solidarity, they are speaking truth to power with one voice—
We are not going to be used and abused by the political establishment any more.
Those days are over.
The revolution starts now,
When you rise above your fear,
And tear the walls around you down,
The revolution starts here.
Because the Almighty Dollar has too much blood on it, because there are too many prisons and not enough schools, because there’s too much deceit and not enough truth, too much hate and not enough healing, too much darkness and not enough light.
Because police keep killing Blacks and keep high-fiving each other for it, because Chelsea Manning is in prison and Dick Cheney isn't, because too many Democrats do nothing but collect Superpac cash while our infrastructure decays and the middle class disappears and democracy dies and the polar icecaps melt.
Ben Wolfgang . . .
There are several reasons behind Mr. Sanders‘ exploding popularity. The main factor is that he’s spent his 25 years in Congress building a reputation as a fierce left-wing warrior and, at this point, has more credibility among liberals than any other candidate in the race. There’s a sense that his supporters have — here’s this guy, he’s very smart, he really can be quite eloquent when talking about these issues, and he’s been fighting these battles for a long time. People see it as a fiery authenticity.
Last night I had a dream,
That the world had turned around,
And all our hopes had come to be,
And the people gathered 'round . . .
Occupy Wall Street was just a preview of coming attractions.
This election isn’t about math, it’s not about newspaper interviews, it’s not about who said what at the Vatican. It’s not about party loyalty or super-delegate scoreboards, it’s not about any of the contrived issues the corporate media keeps trotting out in order to protect the political establishment from being held accountable for decades of deceit and betrayal.
This election is about the Oligarchy that President Carter and so many others have condemned, it’s about the obscene power of GoldmanSachs, of CitiGroup, of Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, it’s about the greed and lawlessness of the corporate establishment, it’s about the entrenched corruption of the political establishment and the pervasive propaganda of the media establishment.
It’s about the survival of democracy in America, it’s about the future of our children, it’s about giving them the better world they deserve.
I saw it written 'cross the sky, The revolution starts now . . .
Millions of us are supporting Bernie because we’ve had our fill of the deceit of Wall Street, we’ve had our fill of the conceit of corporate politicians, we don’t need their autocracy or hypocrisy or corruption, we don't need their Kissinger clones or their no-fly-zones or their Predator drones, we’re fed up with their falsehoods and their flag-waving and their Feinsteins, we aren’t going to pledge allegiance to any of it anymore, too many of our sons and daughters have been sent off to fight their rich man’s wars.
Been there . . .
Done that.
Never again.
The political establishment is not going to get their rich man's war against ISIS, they aren't going to get their rich man's war against Iran, they aren't going to get their rich man's war against Russia or China or any of the other designated evildoers on their list. It isn’t going to matter how much propaganda the corporate media catapults, it isn’t going to matter how many lies we're told by the corporate politicians who abuse their power in that Congress of the Corrupt, by the Corrupt, and for the Corrupt.
The Revolution Starts Now.
Where you work and where you play, Where you lay your money down, What you do and what you say, The revolution starts now . . .
They all brought what they could bring, And nobody went without, And I learned a song to sing, The revolution starts now.
Bernie Sanders . . .
Our democracy is under fierce attack. Billionaire families are now able to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to buy the candidates of their choice. These people own most of the economy. Now they want to own our government as well. The Koch brothers, the second wealthiest family in America, plan to spend some $900 million in the coming 2016 election, more money than either of our major parties spent in the last election. That is not democracy. That is oligarchy.
We used to see living wages, we used to see middle class prosperity, we used to see strong unions and economic progress and respect for the rights of women.
What do we see now?
A woman in the night, With a baby in her hand, Under an old street light, Near a garbage can . . .
The reality-based campaign of Bernie Sanders keeps winning primaries because the Oligarchy is a reality, because pervasive corruption in our political and economic systems is a reality, because massive income inequality is a reality, because catastrophic climate change is a reality.
Incremental change is an unreal response to these existential threats.
Proponents of it have no credibility, their unworthiness for public office is being exposed by Reality itself.
Reality is speaking truth to power.
Join the Political Revolution.
