I’m not for Bernie because I thought he would never go negative against an opponent. If he was that kind of candidate, he couldn’t run a campaign against the republicans.
I’m not for Bernie because he consistently beats republicans in hypothetical matchups when Hillary doesn’t. I have no faith in those polls.
I’m not for Bernie because he’s the alternative to the candidate most hated and most likely to get out large numbers of anti Hillary votes from the right, who would otherwise have little reason to vote. If the alternative to Hillary was just another democrat who just wants to go along to get along … I might support Hillary.
I’m for Bernie because of the 3 most important issues facing all Americans and, actually, the population of the planet. Stabilizing the American economy and, in turn, the world economy by making the criminal enterprise of Wall Street a thing of the past. Taking immediate action on climate change amelioration, which will only be possible if the first issue is addressed because it will cost a great deal of real capital before it starts paying for itself. And finally war, which is more gut call than one based on data … I just have a strong feeling that Bernie will be far less likely to wage war than any other candidate out there, or even on the horizon.
I am a lifelong democrat … but I always vote the person, not the party. I have decided I will vote for Hillary, if I must. Even though I’m worried that she will be at odds with my ideas about how to deal with those three issues.
In the meantime, though, I will continue to support the one person who mirrors my views.
