I’m bored with this election already. Let’s be honest here. Get out of your partisan cocoon and take a step back to view the field honestly and with a clear eye. This election is over. There are some entertaining moments to see like the mess at the republican convention, but the whole “race” is virtually over.
Hillary Clinton is basically the next president. Now I’m not saying this as a Clinton fan, I’m not American, I’m just a Dutch fan of American elections and as a European Arab immigrant. My hero was Barack Obama, never had the same feelings for Hillary and even “hated” her a little bit during the 2008 elections.
But as a lifelong observer of the spectacle that is American elections, I have to be honest, this race is over.
First, Bernie Sanders. Hillary has a delegate lead that he won’t catch up to, and superdelegates won’t switch to Sanders unless Sanders catches up, wich ain’t going to happen. I’m sorry American “Social Democrats” but this year it ain’t going to happen, the future of the party belongs to you though. And my god is Hillary lucky that Elizabeth Warren didn’t run. Before the election I feared that Warren was to left for the electorate, but on retrospect Warren would have crushed Clinton.
Ok then the republicans. Let’s be honest here. That’s over.
Either Trump wins the nomination. Then Hillary wins. No doubt about it. It’s not that he’s too rascist or too fascist. Trump is just too stupid basically. He is no Pim Fortuyn. Blacks will turn out in droves to stop the biggest enemy of Black Live Matters and the godfather of the birther conspiracies. Latino’s will turn out in record numbers to stop the man who insults them to their face.
So what’s left is whites, but for every extra white man he wins, he loses an extra white woman for being such a rude orc. Whatever hope he had of winning states like Pennsylvania to make up for all the Latino heavy populated states, that hope is crushed by his immense impopularity with women. Let’s be honest, he is everything the majority of modern women despises. Rude, boarish, bullying, insulting, the figurehead of the miss universe flesh contest, married with different trophy wives who would never in their right mind get near him if he was a carpenter and even bragging about the size of his “member”. It ain’t gonna happen folks, while the Trump revolution looks a lot like the Fortuyn revolution in the Netherlands, Trump simply doesn’t have the class and smoothness that the Dutch professor had.
So Hillary wins against Trump anyway.
So what’s left is Cruz. And he might beat Hillary if it wasn’t for one major problem. To defeat Trump he must “steal” the election. And trumps fans, many of whom have voted for McCain and Romney in the past, simply aren’t going to accept that. They are going to stay home. They are going to be furious.
And Hillary wins.
Yes, Cruz is a good debater, but problem is, so is Hillary. If Cruz steals the election, the republican convention is going to be a mess, and the last chance Cruz has is beating hillary in the debates. But Cruz is an incredibly unlikable fellow, probably far too conservative for the American center and Hillary is just too experienced and to capable to let herself be crushed in a debate. That just ain’t gonna happen. For every guy that he can convince that he’s the new Reagan, there is a trumpite that stays home because the election was stolen from him.
So to come to a conclusion guys, it’s boring to talk about 2016. That is already over. What about 2020? Well, if Hillary has a decent 4 years it might even be 2024 before we have an exciting race again. But perhaps Hillary will be unlucky and 2020 will be a difficult ride. Can republicans come together in 2020? Which republican is best positioned to take on Hillary in 2020?
