You can say what you like about Hillary Rodham Clinton, but what you cannot deny is her coalition, which came to power in 2008 and made their voices heard again in 2012, is the future of the Democratic party and the future of America. Hispanics, African Americans, Asian Americans, Women, sprinkle in some youth and you have THE coalition that will shape this country’s future.
We may squabble, fight, throw rocks and get in the mud, but I for one find this so beautiful. After 30+ years of the “southern strategy” and the “silent majority” it is refreshing to see an America that will move in a more progressive direction because of this coalition. No future politician will win a democratic primary without somehow cobbling this group together. Heck, considering the demographic changes in the coming years, there may be no candidate who can win the Presidency without making significant inroads with one or all of these groups.
