A new McClatchy Marist poll released today has Bernie Sanders leading nationally, 49%-47%:
Sanders, an independent, edges Clinton nationally thanks to solid support from several groups. He leads 76-23 percent among those 29 and younger; 63-31 percent among Latinos; 62-32 among independents; 58-38 among the unmarried; and 56-42 among liberals.
Clinton leads 61-35 among African-Americans, a gap narrower than earlier contests in the primary season, and 53-43 among Democrats.
The poll of 1,297 adults was conducted March 29-31, which is after Sanders’s big wins in Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska, but before the most recent Wisconsin primary. The margin of error is 2.7 points.
