I am sitting here in disbelief. I have a lot of work to get done, but I just saw this on my Facebook news feed, and am stunned. So much so that I came here to write a diary for the first time in a long time.
The long and short of it is that Adam who was born in England, was brought to the U.S. at the age of three by his mother, who was born in the United States of America. He returned to England to see his dying father. As his mother explains:
Adam had to fly on a UK Passport to see his father, and in May 2015, when he tried to return home afterwards, Adam was informed that his return visa had been revoked. My son, who has been an American his whole life, was not being allowed to return to the U.S.
We have been told it could be 10 years before he can come home, due to a backlog of visas awaiting approval. Please urge the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service to help grant Adam a quick return to the U.S., to his home.

I’m trying to wrap my head around the fact that Ted Cruz who was born in Canada to a mother who was born in the U.S. is a citizen and claims he meets this requirement:
Status as a natural-born citizen of the United States is one of the eligibility requirements established in the United States Constitution for election to the office of President or Vice President. This requirement was intended to protect the nation from foreign influence.
Natural-born-citizen clause
And therefore is qualified to hold the office of President of the United States, but Adam can’t return to his home, family, friends and work because … huh?
Perhaps, Ted Cruz should use his considerable legal skills to intervene here and help Adam come home. After all, if Ted Cruz succeeds in bringing Adam home using the argument that Adam is a natural-born citizen just like Ted Cruz claims to be, then Ted Cruz could use this case to bolster his argument when Donald Trump files suit claiming Ted Cruz isn’t a natural-born citizen.
As it is doubtful that Ted Cruz has the time or inclination to help Adam out, please consider signing his mother’s petition.
