In a preposterous diary someone suggests that Sen Warren is in consideration as VP for a Democratic presidency, and rah-rahs further that there’s a growing buzz about it. Of course this refers to the always realistic world of corporate media where there’s never any manufactured ado about this kind of thing… The adoring lock steppers in the comments bask in the glorious idea (read: fantasy) of their chosen leader gaining the legitimacy such a thing would bring in a wonderful validation of their choice and they all sing kumbaya. (To be fair, the comments reflect that the Senator has unequivocally said “no”) The irony that eludes the author is that such a devil’s bargain by Sen Warren would destroy the legitimacy she has gained exactly by rejecting the policies and politics espoused by a certain presumed winner. You might notice the Senator hasn’t exactly gotten on the bandwagon. (Thus, there may be no big name progressive validation of a specific candidate.)
