The man best known for being a spineless bully of a corrupt pig of a politician, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, continues his reign of terror on New Jersey citizens. Most states have some small system of subsidizing heat and food for people and families in need of those things. The governor took time away from not being a political candidate to conditionally veto the “Heat and Eat” program:

But House Republicans called that gaming the system. They wanted to spend less to feed the poor, so increased what states would have to pay to qualify people for federal food stamps. Unless you receive at least $21 in heating aid, your monthly food stamps would be cut by $90.
Now, enter Chris Christie. Twelve other states stood up for their most vulnerable; instead of allowing such a cut, they increased the heating allowance by using federal or state energy funds. But not our governor.
Last year, he refused pay $3.2 million to bring in $137 million in federal food assistance to 160,000 low-income households — even though he probably could have used all federal dollars.
The bill was the New Jersey Democratic Party’s attempt to help the people of New Jersey in need of assistance.
Assemblywoman Angela McKnight (D-31) is going after Gov. Chris Christie (R) for vetoing a bill she co-sponsored to ensure low-income residents have access to heat and healthy meals, claiming his actions show a “lack of empathy for our most vulnerable residents.”
“I am disheartened by the governor’s lack of empathy for our most vulnerable residents,” McKnight said in a statement.
“This bill would have ensured families in New Jersey struggling to make ends meet had access to the most basic necessities. Despite what the governor might think, food and heat are not luxuries.”
Keep in mind that Governor Christie spent around $360,000 in taxpayer money on food, alcohol and desserts. That’s defrauding the citizens of New Jersey … not people trying to get a few bucks to help with their food and heating bills.
