On a day when you would expect the focus of Democratic campaign news to be the Oregon and Kentucky primaries, the internet and cable news media is giving a good amount of coverage to this past weekend’s debacle, the Nevada State Convention. The chaos was the result of the poor leadership of the Nevada Democratic Party, and the responsibility for that failure lies square at the feet of their chair, Roberta Lange.
Even the DNC issued a statement declaring there is “no excuse for what happened in Nevada”.
Yet the Nevada Democratic Party, rather than trying to right a wrong and seek unity from the Nevada contingent moving forward, continues to fan flames of discontent. Publishing unsubstantiated threats, alledging that they came from Bernie supporters when they more likely are the work of David Brock’s army of trolls. Accusing the Bernie camp of violent tendencies. This is incredibly ironic, as was noted in Senator Sander’s response, where he pointed out that it’s only the Sander’s campaign in Nevada that has experienced actual violence.
Time and time again, the Clinton campaign has demonstrated little interest in true unity among Democrats. Now is the time for her to step forward and condemn the lack of leadership in Nevada that led to this disgusting rift among Democrats.
