(And alliteration) This site has suffered from a dearth of diaries taking on Sanders supporters for their boorish and brutish behavior in Nevada as well as his Failure of LeadershipTM in regard to the coarse louts that still support his quixotic bid for the nomination. This needs to be remedied.
In Nevada, Berniebros said some terrible things and one even menacingly picked up a chair before putting it back down. Some, in the wake of those events even made deplorable threats. Yes, Bernie decried all types of violence but not enough for my liking.
Now the world can be a very violent place and if Sanders is not willing to condemn violence to my liking in that situation, what can I expect from him in the event that an ally launched attacks on civilians or attacked civilian infrastructure or even indiscriminately used cluster munitions? Would he condemn such acts or support efforts to ban such munitions? I am hardly comforted by his reaction to Nevada.
Now while we all have some issues with the primary and caucus process, it is troubling that Sanders supporters would try to upend the process. What if a nation tried to upend their democratic results? Would he condemn it or try to smooth things over and help those who orchestrated a coup?
To be fair, not all Sanders supporters are violent and Bernie himself has not specifically endorsed violence, but can we not judge him by the violent and uncouth company he keeps?
In the dangerous world we live in, the nattering nabobs of negativism on the Sanders side who keep attacking Hillary before the general election cannot be trusted. We must stand with the candidate with a proven and unequivocal position when it comes to violence. I can’t even begin to understand why the Berniebros don’t trust her.
