She didn’t see such a simple question coming? Maybe not.
Saturday she told Chuck Toad (at the 5:00 mark) that she hadn’t thought about whether to participate in the California debate.
I guess she figures only 1/3 of Americans think she’s honest anyway, so why bother telling the truth?
According to a recent New York Times/CBS poll, nearly two-thirds -- 64% -- of registered voters answered "No" when asked if Trump and Clinton are "honest and trustworthy."
She could have offered any number of bogus reasons why she intended to chicken out, but she stammered around a bit then blurted out a painfully transparent lie:
Chuck Toad: Have you though about accepting the invitation?
Hillary: We’ll consider it but I’m really focused…
Chuck Toad: You’re not ruling it out yet?
Hillary: Ah we ah I.. I haven’t thought about it. We’ll consider it...
Riiiiiiiight.
Chuck Toad let it go, of course. Hillary had already galloped away from the question and was busy attacking Trump.
Her supporters will ignore this or tie themselves in knots trying to explain how a professional politician could forget that there was an open invitation to face her opponent in front of the people of California. They say she can break her commitment with impunity. Who cares if she lies about it?
She knew, she thought about it, and she knows her sycophantic followers don’t give a shit if she lies about stuff. She thinks once she has the nomination she can lie all she wants.
