Can anyone please enlighten me as to why Trevor Noah and the writers of the Daily Show thought it was a good idea to feature not one, but TWO Frank Freakin’ Luntz focus group to illustrate the alleged point that “Hillary’s image has gotten so bad that voters can’t even think of nice things to say about her?”
Has the Daily Show forgotten who Frank Luntz is? What he does? Who he works for? What he stands for?
Part of what the Daily Show aired includes this quote from the Luntz March 20th focus group:
“UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: She just - you could turn off the sound and still see on her face that she was lying. She was the worst liar I think I've ever seen in my life.”
And here’s a portion of the transcript from that same March 20th Face the Nation episode, where the same woman who gave the quote above self-identifies:
“UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I'm 46. I have every single - I have voted in every single election, always for a Republican, and I will not vote if it's Donald Trump.
LUNTZ: How can you not?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Because I don't - I'm not bound to my party. I am bound to my country and to my God and to myself.”

You know where is it really easy to find a reference to this same quote that the Daily Show aired? Breitbart.com. I refuse to link to that site, but just Google Frank Luntz March 20th focus group and it’s one of the top results.
I’m too technically inept to embed the Daily Show video, but if you go to last night’s Daily Show online, the segment starts at about 6:38. And here’s a link:

And then the Daily Show features Politico’s Mike Allen for his commentary. The same Mike Allen who Salon rated #1 Hack in 2013:
“EXCLUSIVE — “Mike Allen is the biggest hack in the country, by Alex Pareene:“Mike Allen, Politico’s superstar email newsletter author, has never been anyone’s idea of a hard-charging, truth-to-power journalist, but as he’s built PLAYBOOK into an elite Washington institution, he’s become effectively indistinguishable from a paid advocate for business interests. … He promotes causes favored by wealthy corporate executives, promotes the nonprofits and PACs and interest groups those executives fund, and promotes the politicians who agree with the corporate agenda. And he does all of this each day in the guise of a simple emailed tipsheet of links to major political news stories.
… “For Allen, a source is indistinguishable from a friend and both are indistinguishable from sponsors. The result is a daily exercise in favor-trading carried out by people using him as a conduit and people using him as an unpaid spokesman.”

Two massive shovels full of bullshit heaped upon the mountain by the Daily Show and Trevor Noah.
Jon Stewart must be tearing out his beard.
