I am continually amazed to see how drastically Hillary Clinton has improved her primary election strategies during this cycle. In 2008 her campaign acted entitled and opportunistic and negative. This time she is the adult in the room, confident and constantly constructive. She is steady and reassuring and marching hand in hand with all the underprivileged Americans that need a strong supportive Democrat in the White House to continue the progress that Barack Obama wrought.
If you have been following the primaries on Twitter, you are probably being bombarded by bitter childish bickering between two childish camps who cannot seem to see past the end of their partisan noses. #DropOutHillary throwing tantrums and baby food jars at #DropOutBernie? Yikes. Grow up and get real people. This is not a playground after naptime, this is real life in America and Donald Trump is looming on the horizon.
I am not even going to mention the tactics that the Bernie Sanders campaign has chosen in these final months. They need to keep bringing in money, and if they concede even in tone they will stop the donations. No problem, paying bills is an adult responsibility.
I am going to highlight the incredible restraint, maturity, and strength of the Hillary Clinton campaign at this moment in time. The major media outlets thrive on childish spats, but the adult in the room is showing true leadership in the face of all the Democrat drama.
CNN had to admit it this morning, check this out.
After Trump all but locked up the nomination on Tuesday night, Clinton surrogates and supporters asked the campaign's top aides whether they can use their TV and online platforms to start asking for the Vermont senator to get out of the way.
The answer they got back was a resounding no.
"The campaign won't give us the green light to tee off on him," said one supporter who asked. "It was all good to say 'Bernie should stay in' when Trump was running against other people but now that she has to take on his attacks and Trump's attacks, things have changed."
.
The supporter added, "To Secretary Clinton's credit, she won't let anybody start pushing him out."
Such a refreshing response. 8 years ago she kept ripping Obama, and we all see how hard Bernie Sanders is still attacking her. Surrogates on all sides are throwing mud just for the fun of it, and Hillary Clinton rises above. As an adult. As the next President of the United States.
