According to a Channel 2 Landmark/Rosetta Stone poll, it could be, as you can see in this article (which has an accompanying video).
Among the key takeaways
Top line Trump 42 Clinton 41
the other 19% are undecided, including 36% of self-described independents, while those independents who are committing are breaking towards Clinton, 36-28.
Trump leads men by 6%, Clinton leads women by 5%.
The complete poll is available here
among other things to note:
Clinton leads African-Americans 73-9 (rounded)
Trump leads whites 61-25
Clinton leads among all others (including the increasing Hispanic population) 49-22.
Trump is drawing 80% of Republicans and 6% of Dems, while Clinton is drawing 84% of Dems and 8% of Republicans.
It might well be worth a shot at putting some forces on the ground in Georgia, as well as doing massive registration efforts in the African-American and Hispanic communities.
Of course, Trump could well pick Newt Gingrich as his running mate, although that could cut both ways.
This poll was taken Thursday May 5.
It is one brief snapshot.
It is at least an indicator that the lay of the land for this general election could be very different than what we are used to.
