The website TV.com does a good job in listing television shows from the 1970s that I remember watching as a young BFSkinner.
Didn’t grow up in the 1970s, but another decade? No problem.. you can change the decade.
I was born in 1969 so I watched kids shows mostly in the 70s and as far as I remember this list is pretty good… although it does not count the CBC shows (Mr. Dressup and The Friendly Giant) I used to watch.
The lead show is Sesame Street which brings back way so many memories. I used to love Mr. Hooper.
Second is Looney Tunes. Who does not remember watching the Road Runner Hour? Even though the shorts were made long ago (in the 40s and 50s mostly) they still caused this pre-teen to pee his pants in laughter.
The same thing with the Flintstones. Even though the Flintstones were made earlier they were still watchable and chuckleworthy. I still use Flintstone lines in relevant situations to this day.
Next comes Tom and Jerry. Even though my name is Jeremy and back then I was called Jerry I was an early pootie lover as I was always cheering for Tom. :)
The next show I remember watching from the 1970s was The Thunderbirds. Although it ended being made in the late 60s it was still being shown on TV in the 70s. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesy but great!
The next show I recall watching from the 1970s was still being made in the 1970s. The Pink Panther was a classic, the music, the characters everything about it stood out.
No list of 1970 shows can be complete without mention of the Superfriends in one form or another. :)
Although I never really got into them, there were the Jetson’s…
I remember owning the little rubber figures made from this show..I think I had the whole collection of characters!
Anyway, I could go on and post a hundred more videos but I do not want to dominate this diary with videos… remember the Hair Bear Bunch and of course who could forget Scooby Doo
But enough from me. If you grew up in the 1970s watching TV what were some of your favorites?!
