Welcome to the world as I see it through my camera
I have been a photographer for more than 40 years specializing in nature and scenic photography.
As a landscape photographer, my work is a conscious play of mood, light and color, but as a naturalist raised and rooted in the diverse landscapes of western America, a photo means more than that to me. Each location is an encounter with the land, the trees, and the waters that have always given me a sense of connection and order. When a location intrigues and inspires me, I will photograph the scene, experimenting and searching to learn more about the natural threads that tie the landscape together with complexity, subtlety and more importantly balance. My study of the landscape will bring me somewhat closer to an honest translation of both soul and land as I continue a lifelong effort to communicate the emotional connection I feel with my environment.
I grew up in an age when you had to understand to capture light on film and how to reproduce the memory of that photo in the darkroom.
Many of the photographs displayed here are from the California coast. I traveled up and down the Northern coast with my dawgs and my 15 foot trailer. I have always been drawn to the beauty of the ocean and sunsets. And when you look at my websites, you will see that I'm drawn to photographing trails because of the unknown focus of where those trails lead to what awaits me around the bend in the trail I'm walking down?
I was disabled by a workplace injury and I'm trying to earn a little extra income so that I can continue to keep myself and my dawgs in our home.
My photos make a great addition to any home or office. Purchasing one (or more) is a great way to decorate and do some good for a disabled photographer.
If you have friends that like photographs but can't decide which ones that they would like, ask about gift cards. Please email me if you are interested in purchasing them so your family or friends can select their own photographs.
Most photos are available in color or for a nostalgic retro look, sepia or black and white. Calendars are available upon request. You can see all photos and learn more here:
