Not to mention hurtful to people of certain demographic backgrounds.
I was over at the beloved ‘progressive’ site caucus99percent, where we keep getting people, on this site, encouraging people to go because it’s such a better environment.
But you get comments like this that get no pushback:
Like Clarence 'Pull up the ladder' Thomas or Barack Obama function like the jewish capos at concentration camps.
Or, in reference to the Black Caucus:
And start thinking of them as members of the 1%, and it all makes sense.
Wow. It must be really easy for a white person to say we should stop thinking of POC as being POC. Except that the many minorities around America don’t get to take off their skin when they go home and have to deal with issues of race all the time. There are no moments when they can stop thinking of themselves as being part of a minority. Society enforces it all the time.
If you’re not a fan of the Black Caucus and have ideological disagreements with their choices, fine. That’s legitimate. To start calling black politicians house slaves or to say you can dismiss race, well, that’s just privilege and racism. Yet, no pushback.
Guess it’s a caucus for the 99% only if you’re white.
