Jeremy Corbyn as pointed out above is bad for Labour not just their chances at winning elections but their ability to remain united on policy. As Reed mentions Corbyn’s leadership style is to bludgeon and threaten his fellow MPs with a dedicated horde of social media warriors and protesters. The culture within Labour he created was one of fear. Not fear of electoral consequences but fear for their safety when confronted with people that Corbyn lied about winding up. One that was hostile to women MPs who often bear the brunt of violent rhetoric online and in real life. Corbyn’s refusal to resign puts not only Labour’s future in jeopardy but the future of progressive politics in the UK.
