I live in western Simi Valley, within walking distance to the Reagan library. In fact on primary and election day in 2014 and 2015, I voted at the Reagan Library (yes I know, hold your nose and vote; for sure). For this years primary they moved the polling place at the bottom of the hill at the Laser Tag Extreme. When I stopped at Starbucks for my triple venti vanilla latte, I walked over to the Laser Tag Extreme and cast my vote for Hillary Clinton. I was told to make a left at the Jurassic Park video game and turn right.
California definitely has their act together as far as voting goes. I used to vote in Richmond, Virginia from 2004 — 2009 at an elementary school, where I was used to seeing hundreds of people in line ahead of me. I moved to CA in 2010 and the polling place has always been within walking distance and I have yet to see a line of any sort in any of 4 polling places since I’ve lived here.
The bizarreness of the this years polling place reflects the bizarreness of this years election (Thank you Donald!). I thought that voting straight Democratic tickets at the Reagan library was funny and interesting but this years location takes the cake.
What is the weirdest polling place you have ever voted at?
Go Hillary and best wishes to all my Bernie bothers and sisters on a hard fought campaign. Lets move on together from here and kick some butt in November.
