Just a few examples of what can be found on Senator Warren’s FB page.
“Elizabeth Warren, you are a total fake. Your endorsement means nothing. You have destroyed your career by supporting Clinton. We will never ever trust you again.. EVER!!”
“Thanks for being a sellout!”
I became aware of what was going on when this Mother Jones piece appeared in my twitter feed.
Elizabeth Warren's Facebook Fans on Clinton Endorsement: Noooooooooooo!
"I should have known all along that you were a sellout."
Et tu, Warren?
After news broke Thursday afternoon that Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the progressive hero from Massachusetts, would endorse Hillary Clinton on MSNBC's Rachel Maddow show on Thursday night, Bernie Sanders' fans took to Facebook to voice their frustration…..
Yep, the woman who created and fought heart and soul for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the woman who really didn’t want to run for office but did in order to protect the CFPB and to fight for economic justice, the woman who has been pummeling Trump and the GOP, is now an establishment sell out of the first order.
Apparently these people never paid attention to Hillary’s and Elizabeth’s working relationship when Hillary was still in the Senate. Nor did they seem to notice that Elizabeth was one of the Senators who signed a letter asking Hillary to run. Reality. It matters.
I’m waiting for the reaction when Elizabeth and Bernie are out campaigning for Hillary. The mind boggles.
Maybe, just maybe, these folks may want to consider that Hillary is not the corporatist she devil from hell that they think she is. Perhaps, just perhaps, they may want to take a look at her decades long history of fighting for people, in and out of office. Maybe, just maybe, Elizabeth is right to endorse Hillary. Just a thought.
Fortunately, the vast majority of Bernie’s supporters are not like those insulting Warren’s integrity. Those dismissing Warren’s honesty and values are doing a disservice to Bernie and the majority of his supporters.
Perhaps the people attacking Warren should think about that too.
After all, we have a great team. And it’s growing.
