Hello.
I figured we could step away from our regularly-scheduled programming to actually discuss what will be going on in four short months.
To wit: The ground game.
By now, we have all had a healthy chuckle about the ongoing tire-fire which is Trump’s campaign, especially as it pertains to local organization. Basically, there ain’t none. In many swing states, there is only the sound of the wind whistling over the lonely plains. Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado...they are all but wastelands.
But before we spend too much time chortling at Trump’s expense, I have a question for the election experts in our midst. How much is the ground game worth in a close election. Say that you have an election which is nominally 50/50. One candidate (we’ll call her...er...Lillary Hinton) is an experienced candidate who has a top-of-the-line ground game. The other, named...hmmm…..Ronald Tinyhands, is a political neophyte who thinks hats are cutting edge. Statistically, how much of an edge does the ground game give Lillary. Please show your work, citing examples. : 0 )
Thanks,
