There’s a diary on the rec list right now that suggests that woman who took the fall for Melania Trump’s speech is not a real person. However, as ericlewis0 points out, she’s been working as a writer for Trump for years, at least since 2007, as the Guardian article he points out shows:
Trump has what some of his employees refer to as an open-door policy; its main function seems to be that he can shout at them through it.
'Would you get me a biography please!'
Meredith McIver, one of the assistants who doubles as his ghost writer, scuttles in with a few sheets of paper, on which a company bio is printed in bold and written in similar fashion: 'A schoolboy's dream ... a competitor's challenge. Donald J Trump is the very definition of the American success story. In August 2006, Mr Trump was voted by the staff and writers of Business Week as one of the Top 10 most competitive business people on the planet.'
The diarist does point out some weird things that have been done to McIver’s social media presence today. This is a legitimate issue. But it does appear that McIver has not been manufactured. FWIW, she’s a real person working for Trump.
I don’t want to insult the other diarist, since it’s clear that a fair bit of research was done for it. But it’s important that the other diary be updated, since this is a rumor that should not get spread.

I’m stepping out a bit to get dinner, but y’all have fun.
Update 2: this diary appears to have made the Rec List, which is my first time. It’s not really earned, since I’m just passing on other people’s links. But nice, anyway. Hopefully, it won’t matter if people think McIver’s not real, since:
