A recent Clinton campaign ad very convincingly portrays Donald Trump as a “bad role model.”
As will be assuredly revealed on November 8th, the vast majority of Americans do not want such an immature, mean-spirited, buffoon who brazenly mocks individuals with severe disabilities elected to the office of president. But what are we to conclude regarding the character of the woman Donald Trump chose as his third wife?
In explaining details surrounding Melania Trump’s recent Republican Convention speech where the two collaborated to plagiarize words spoken by Michelle Obama in 2008, Meredith McIver revealed that Mrs. Trump admires First Lady Obama. According to CBS News:
McIver, who identified herself as an "in-house staff writer at the Trump Organization" and also "a longtime friend and admirer" of the Trumps, explained Wednesday, "In working with Melania Trump on her recent First Lady speech, we discussed many people who inspired her and messages she wanted to share with the American people."
Notably, McIver said Mrs. Trump had identified that "a person she has always liked is Michelle Obama."
"Over the phone, she read me some passages from Mrs. Obama's speech as examples. I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech," she wrote.
But, let’s not forget that Melania Trump had earlier lied to Today’s Matt Laurer, saying:
I read it once over, and that's all because I wrote it with as little help as possible.
Mrs. Trump’s values, in fact, seem worlds removed from those of Mrs. Obama and the vast majority of American parents. As noted by GQ Magazine, Melania Trump posed for a series of soft-porn photos that display her handcuffed to a bed – with the obvious sadomasochism association — and brandishing a gun in front of an airplane – with its obvious association to the kind of airline hijackings terrorists have long resorted to as a weapon of choice.
As we move into the last four months of this presidential campaign, we are called upon to give pause and consider not only whether a man as insensitive and boorish as Donald Trump is fit to hold our government’s highest office, but also to seriously consider whether the soft-porn model Melania Trump would be the kind of First Lady we want as a role model for our young girls and boys.
