Democrats are quick to label Trump as a misogynistic hate monger. Republicans are too scared to stand with Trump because of his radical views. Both parties are right, within reason. The discourse in Trump’s campaign suggest a utopian society where all foreigners are forced to be tested for their religious preferences, Mexicans are loved but not welcome into the country, and African Americans exist but we don’t acknowledge them because they are criminals. With all of the hate-filled rhetoric flooding the airwaves, society has to ask themselves if Trump’s point-of-view is that far off from the way American’s feel? It is a sad question to ask, but something tells me that American’s agree with him because they too are hate-mongers. And if this is true, Trump only has to highlight all of the fears that American’s have and run on a platform that suggest he is going to fight that.
During Trumps recent acceptance speech, he announced “that we will be a country of generosity and warmth.” However, the GOP has had a history of not welcoming others with any kind of warmth. Think about Gingrich’s comment: “We should frankly test every person here who is of a Muslim background, and if they believe in sharia, they should be deported,” he said to Sean Hannity. This might not have been Trump speaking, but this man is a Trump supporter. Let’s not forget that Trump’s campaign is constantly preaching that American needs to build a Berlin wall between Mexico and the States. And American’s support this idea. This leads one to think that hatred still exist in the 21st century and it is as strong as it was in the 20th and possibly in the 19th.
Now, Trump is using some very powerful rhetoric to instill fear in the masses. And the masses already have a lot of fear in their lives. Trump is actually adding fuel to the fire. Hell, he’s pouring gasoline on that fire. Trumps campaign is operating like a damn bloodhound: they are sniffing out fears of the country and bringing them back. “I am the law and order candidate,” Trump announced at the RNC. It is one of the smartest things to say to his people. People are already in fear; hearing Trump say he is the law and order tells everyone order is going to be restored with this man; and possible, Anarchy will continue with Hillary.
Finally, I am concerned that Trump is convincing doubters. All of the wild accusations that he makes about knowing how to do this and that; eventually, people are going to start thinking that Trump is right. “Nobody knows the system better than me.” Trump proclaimed during his narcissistic acceptances speech. Now people might be thinking that he is crazy, but it’s not. He is convincing himself and convincing the masses into agreeing with him. In some ways, he is supplying brainwashing to those whom are willing to listen.
