One of the reasons Trump got a poll-bump is that the crowd in Cleveland only booed Cruz, and was otherwise loudly enthusiastic for their candidate.
Early on tonight, the PBS talking heads were on about how Bernie supporters would be booing any mention of Hillary, as they had at some state breakfasts, which would not be good for our candidate.
Didn’t happen, so far.
In the first hour, PBS interviewed two Bernie supporters on the floor. One would not commit to voting for Hillary in November, the other said he definitely would not.
Didn’t hear them booing at all afterwards
NY Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, MN Sen. Al Franken, and smart comedian Sarah Silverman (a Bernie voter) all gave strong support for our candidate, and were unanimously and loudly applauded.
The Bernie-booers are obviously a minority, and will only get loud if they sense they are not alone.
Let’s hope that the first hour portends the rest of the convention on TV — unanimous vocal support for our candidate that more than matches what happened in Cleveland and helps to restore Hillary’s lead in every poll.
