I have been on the fence as to what exactly to think about the human slavery practiced in our nation — there are so many conflicting conclusions one could come to — but Bill O’Reilly has finally set me straight. On his show Tuesday night, he said:
"Slaves that worked there were well-fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government ...”
Now I finally get it! You see, human slavery wasn’t really that bad! That answers the question I’ve had for years: why did all those white people volunteer to become slaves? When I see in my history book that tens of thousands of white people, of their own free will, signed up to become slaves, it makes sense when you consider all the free food and “decent lodgings”. It’s no wonder it was such a phenomenon in the early 19th century! I mean, it sure beats “freedom” with all its messy and confusing “making your own decisions” about “your own life”.
Now, I’ve met some people that didn’t know about all the white volunteer slaves. I didn’t either, until my history professor at Trump University explained it all to me.
I’ll bet that if Bill O’Reilly lived back then, he would have been one of the first to sign up for that sweet deal! Gosh Bill, thank you so much for explaining this; what would we do without you?
