USA Today posted an article today about how young voters have run from Donald Trump, favoring Hillary by a 56%-20% span. Awesome!

It made me appreciate some things about the young people in our country. While the terrific Rodgers and Hammerstein song from South Pacific describes the dangers of ‘carefully taught’ generational bigotry - and I do believe those dangers to be very real - they are clearly not the whole story with today’s generation.
Mandy Patinkin doing the honors with that special song.
Despite the indoctrination conservatives try to conduct, many young people have a sense about truth and integrity and truly miserable political energy, such as that shown by the Republican presidential nominee. Simply, they see THROUGH them. They see through Donald Trump, thanks to an innate wisdom, intelligence and integrity.
For contrast - so many of us who grew up during the Vietnam protests will remember this - the USA Today article cited points out that Trump’s current polling results with that millennial demographic are markedly worse than Richard Nixon’s were (32%) in 1972! Wow! Because Nixon was extremely unpopular with us, deservedly so. (He still is.)
It encourages me that today’s millennials are acquiring a clear sense of the conservative crazy that we’ve seen so much in recent years, this relentless push toward reactionary extremes. Perhaps they can send a message that Republicans will listen to. Now, if only we can get them to turn out on election day!

My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. *brillig notes that had you not nominated the comment it wouldn’t appear in this list. Every nomination matters!!!

In this morning's Cheers & Jeers, a nifty reply about yard signage gave us this little gem from rb608.
From brillig:
I think lgmcp has a great idea, and the thread it spawned is a great read! From Joan McCarter’s Harry Reid trolls Trump: 'He should take' the U.S. citizenship test.
IamGumby thought this gem by GWinkler should be a Top Comment.
