Alaska just replaced six incumbents in the Alaska legislature..
including two Democrats who had been caucusing with the Republicans..
And two House terrible Republican incumbents who left their House seats to run for Senate..lost

On the Senate front..Ray Metcalfe won the primary for the Democrats to challenge Lisa Murkowski..
Ray runs a strong anti-corruption message..but has raised no cash..and has burned a lot of bridges within his own party..he will be a wild card
Independent candidate Margaret Stock has raised a half-million dollars and is coordinating her campaign to a degree with the Democrats. Senator Mark Begich supports her. She is smart (has won the McArthur Foundation Award for her work on immigration policy), down-to-earth (supports green energy), is progressive on the issues, and has the best chance to take down obstructionist Republican Lisa Murkowski.

For the record both Stock and Metcalfe have been a Republican at some point in the past..
On the House side, Steve Lindbeck, Democrat, will face off against Rep. Don Young and has a strong chance of finally retiring this dinosaur. Lindbeck is best known for his leadership with Alaska Public Media.

I know most folks here don’t take Alaska too seriously, but maybe this is the year we can help take back the Senate and the House. The Alaska legislature already looks a whole lot better and we haven’t even had a general election yet.
So be kind..we are doing our best here. And this is one instance where the Independent is the best candidate to support for US Senate against Lisa Murkowski.
Stay tuned.
