AUTHOR’S NOTE: I am not employed by the Sarah Lloyd campaign in any way, and I am not a resident of the State of Wisconsin.
Sometime not long before the Democratic National Convention earlier this year, I stumbled upon a social media post by someone who was referring to an individual from the Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin area by the name of Sarah Lloyd as a Democratic congressional candidate from the 6th Congressional District of Wisconsin. I read about Lloyd, and, even though I live in another state, I was immediately inspired by her.
Sarah Lloyd is an active dairy farmer in rural Wisconsin, and, as a dairy farmer, she understands how free-trade policies that have already been enacted have hurt farmers in Wisconsin and across the country, and she opposes proposed free-trade policies, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership that, if enacted, would cost America thousands of jobs, including the loss of agricultural jobs.
As a congressional candidate, Sarah Lloyd is a strong proponent of common sense ideas, such as supporting more renewable energy, such as solar and wind energy, right here in America, expanding Social Security, protecting America’s environment and water supply, and investing in education.
Lloyd’s general election opponent is Republican incumbent Glenn Grothman, who is, in his sexist mind, entirely convinced that there is a war on men in America, among other things.
