In a New York Times Opinion Piece entitled "I Ran the C.I.A. Now I’m Endorsing Hillary Clinton", Michael Morell wrote “I am neither a registered Democrat nor a registered Republican. In my 40 years of voting ... I have always been silent about my preference for president.” He went on to say “No longer. On Nov. 8, I will vote for Hillary Clinton.”
In response to which I offered my comment, which the NY Times kindly accepted and posted:
Mr. Morell wrote that Hillary Clinton is "willing to change her mind if presented with a compelling argument."
This, in a single sentence, is what distinguishes Secretary Clinton from Trump, or most any of the GOP's leadership. As card carrying members of the Republican Party, they seem to have sworn to never take off their blinders, never consider a different - not necessarily opposing - point of view and, in short, hold their ground, even though it may be opening up as a sink hole.
Trump has shown himself to be unbalanced, with his signature behavior being that of a five-year-old child. Name-calling, repetition of lies, swearing that he is being honest are all characteristics of a mind which needs serious professional help.
The office of POTUS is not the place to get that kind of help.
