A daily series, Connect! Unite! Act! seeks to create face-to-face networks in each congressional district. Groups regularly socialize but also get out the vote, support candidates and engage in other local political actions that help our progressive movement grow and exert influence on the powers-that-be. Visit us at Daily Kos every morning at 7:30 A.M. Pacific Time to see how you can get involved. The comment thread is fun and light-hearted, but we're serious about moving the progressive political agenda forward.
If you are new to the site or have been lurking, we invite you to join in the friendly banter here. Don’t be shy, say anything, it will be well received.
On the morning of December 30th somewhere in Macomb County, MI, I commented here at CUA about my wardrobe malfunction.
Well... I wish I that I had carried my heavy coat with me when I left my aunt's house in northern Macomb County this morning but, I only wore my lighter jacket... and then I was wondering why it was so cold as I caught the busses back to Mom's house this morning... split my pants while cleaning my aunt's kitchen...
I made that comment as I was catching the first of three suburban busses to reach my destination (Mom’s house).
I was using my backpack to cover up the malfunctioned area of my jeans (where I was feeling a bit of a breeze) to the best of my ability.
Believe it or not, this was not even the most embarrassing wardrobe malfunction of my life!
(And no I am not talking about the time I split my pants while climbing over the back fence in my best friend’s back yard!)
I was over my Granddad’s house visiting for the summer and I decided to wear the baddest pair of plaid bell bottoms that you ever did see.
I think that I decided to wear a too-large shirt that wasn’t tucked because I did have a bit of a problem with a zipper that couldn’t stay zipped.
So here I was with my brother and another kid from next door on Granddad’s porch and the neighbor’s kid pointed at waist level and said, “Uh, your d*ck is out.”
And so it was!
I quickly tucked it back in, zipped up my pants and went back into the house to change my pants.
When I thought about it a few years later when I figured out that the word “gay” applied to me, I did remember that I did think that my next door neighbor was kinda cute and that...I was in a semi-aroused state at that time.
It’s still embarrassing to even think about that!
Today’s Question: C’mon, everyone has had a “wardrobe malfunction” or two in their lifetime, right? Tell the good folks here at CUA all about it.
Your secret is safe with us!

WOMEN’S MARCH ON AMERICA
Find your march here and start a group effort to march together, it will be listed here in CUA.
Women’s March on America, inspired by the Women’s March on Washington, calls on all Americans across the political spectrum to hold marches on the same day, at the same times, in communities across the country.
Together, we will send a message to our leaders and the world that the United States of America stands for values of human decency, equal rights and freedom from discrimination.
Our vision is that on January 21, 2017, the day after the Inauguration, Americans will unite in towns, cities, and schools across the nation to march in solidarity with communities affected by hate, intolerance, and acts of violence.
Many of us will not be able to make it to the march in Washington, DC. But we can come together in our local communities to march for our shared values.
navajo can help you with banner graphics to print and carry during the march, kosmail her.
The New York City & New Jersey Kos groups are joining in on the already massive Women’s March on NYC on Saturday, January 21, 2017 and marching together with the Daily Kos banner, shown just above. They’ll likely meet afterward for food & drink, stay tuned for those details. NYC March details here.
