A month or so ago, a neo-Nazi guy named Andrew Anglin who runs a website called “The Daily Stormer” announced that he and other white supremacists would be marching through and intimidating Jewish people in Whitefish, Montana. Why Whitefish? Because that’s where White Nationalist Richard Spencer is from and his mother still lives and owns property. According to Mrs. Spencer and the rest of the nationalists, a cabal of Jews were working to harass Mrs. Spencer and Mr. Anglin was going to do what all good Klansman types before him have done—try to intimidate people and make some money off the angry folk. Unfortunately, it looks like the march will be suspended.
Anglin wrote online on Jan. 11, “I have spoken at length with my lawyers – though the ACLU has yet to respond to my inquiry – and we’ve decided that due to the permit refusal by the city of Whitefish, we will need to postpone the planned march.”
On Jan. 9, the city received a cover page of the required application for a march on Second Street from Memorial Park to City Hall on Jan. 16 from 4-7 p.m. A $65 money order was attached to the application, well short of the city’s required $125 fee for parades. Also, the application did not include a certificate of insurance, a map of the planned route or a checklist of other items required before the city reviews an application.
It looks like someone might have to go out and get a job before he can start making the big boy money that charlatans like Steve Bannon and Richard Spencer pull together off race-baiting. Being the head of a hate movement isn’t for the lazy.
