British Prime Minister Theresa May just visited popular vote loser Trump at the White House this week, and of course, as is the only polite thing to do … extended an invitation to Trump to visit her country in return. One problem. The people of May’s country do not want him there. They want to save their Queen the embarrassment of a State Visit from Trump.
So they started a petition to Parliament. And according to the conditions of the system, Parliament will consider debating the request if the petition reaches 100,000 signatures.
Having seen reports about the petition on the news, I started searching for it online. When I started writing, the petition had already reached 600,000 signatures; but, as I wrote it had broken 700,000 signatures. Who knows by the time you read this, where it will be:
Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK in his capacity as head of the US Government, but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen.
Donald Trump's well documented misogyny and vulgarity disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales. Therefore during the term of his presidency Donald Trump should not be invited to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit.
How will popular vote loser Trump react to this slight by the people of a country that he wants to negotiate a trade agreement with? Will Trump supporters now call for boycotts on the United Kingdom?
