Latest news out of Nevada:
Nevada Rep. Jacky Rosen has raised $1.2 million for her campaign next year to try to unseat Republican Sen. Dean Heller.
The Democratic congresswoman on Monday announced her fundraising report for July through September, which shows her bringing in $100,000 more than Heller in the same time frame.
Heller still finished the quarter with more money in his campaign account. Heller's latest Federal Election Commission report shows he has $4.2 million to spend.
Here’s a little more info:
Rosen’s campaign told The Nevada Independent that the freshman Democrat will report raising $1.185 million over the July through September reporting period, with more than $1.2 million cash on hand, only about a quarter of what the incumbent has in his coffers.
That likely exceeds Heller’s reported fundraising haul of nearly $1.1 million over the reporting period, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The incumbent Republican has nearly $4.2 million in available cash, and spent roughly $530,000 during the reporting period.
Rosen, a former synagogue leader, won a narrow race against Republican Danny Tarkanian in 2016 before officially announcing her intentions to take on Heller in July. She’s been backed by several national and state Democratic powerhouses, including former U.S. Senator Harry Reid, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and abortion rights group NARAL.
Rosen’s campaign said she received more than 20,000 contributions during the reporting period, with approximately 92 percent of the contributions made under $100.
