This is what evil looks like.
For far too long we, the Liberal-Minded-American, have been accused of trying to destroy our country.
Whatever the reason, perhaps a fear of getting dirty by getting in the mud with the GOP, we have let them define us.
However, every single Republican policy has the particular purpose of actually destroying our country. I am not being rhetorical, I am not judging people's motives (yet). I am merely pointing out the well-documented consequences of Republican policy. And yes, it is to a point that we must begin to assume that those who support those policies- especially the politicians and the partisans- want to do what they have accused us of for so many years.
We must assume the Republicans want to destroy our country.
Let's look at the issues.
Tax Policy: In the '20s, the GOP pushed through tax cuts on the rich, after rapid short-term economic growth, the economy crashed. The story repeated itself in the 1980s and the 2000s. They are trying to repeat the story. Why? one can only assume it is to destroy our economy.
Deregulation: This has been the main policy of the GOP for 30 years. The only purpose for across-the-board deregulation is to ensure that our food, medicine, and environment is unsafe. Thus, the only purpose for deregulation is to kill Americans. However, Democrats have no leg to stand on until they make gov't reform their goal. Either the Democrats will make gov't transparent, responsive, efficient, and customer-service based- or the Republicans will dismantle it and kill Americans. The choice is up to us.
Environment: Do I need to go into detail? I will if you need me to.
Abortion: Anyone who wants to make abortion illegal without first addressing systemic poverty wants nothing more than to see our world filled with hungry, unwanted children, and (I assume) these people relish in the idea of knowing women would be forced to have unsafe back-alley abortions. Bloodthirstily evil.
Gun Control: Complete unwillingness to even discuss Universal Background Checks and reinstating the ban on assault weapons makes GOP politicians direct accomplices in every mass murder. It's called aiding and abetting. The fact that most gun deaths are result of accidental shooting, often of children, shows that those who push for greater gun ownership have a complete disregard for human life. Pure evil.
Drug Policy: The only reason to have a War on Drugs is to make criminals out of people that need help. The only reason we would send a dad to jail for a sack of weed is because we want to break up families and destroy another child's life.
We must call out evil where we see it. Often evil is cloaked is pretty thoughts like saving babies and getting gov't off our backs. But, we have enough history, enough data, to know the true consequence of GOP policies.
They call us evil because they project what lies in their heart upon us. But, our eyes are opening.
