Cole the Philosopher’s diary How to make an unstable President go nuts on TV recommends asking Trump at a press conference “What is your response to those that say that such rapidly shifting positions are a symptom of mental illness.”
I disagree, for the reasons expressed by commenters to the diary — it’s dangerous to send him over the edge; he’ll never answer another question, etc.
Instead, I recommend this to all media and elected Democrats, on the floor of the House and Senate and individually.:
Ask every Republican Senator and Congressman why they are not immediately voting to impeach and remove someone whose presence in office every second leads to more death, illness, assault and racism.
We are living in an unceasing Emperor’s New Clothes world. The officers charged with protecting us and limiting threats to us are ignoring the metaphorical nakedness of the Emperor/President. His unfitness is blindingly obvious and getting more so every day. On Jan. 20, it might have been understandable to say “Give him a chance,” but that private jet has long ago left the hangar.
While you’re at it, ask them why they don’t care if we live or die.
And by the way,* all you need are 24 House Republican votes to impeach (194 Dems, plus 24 Reps = 218 majority)** and 19 Senate Republicans to convict (48 Dems plus 19 Reps = 67 2/3 majority).
* Assuming Democrats vote unanimously and votes can’t be blocked by Ryan and McConnell
** Maybe fewer because of R retirements.
