Johnathan Smith will take a souvenir back home to Orange County, Ca. from Las Vegas, a bullet courtesy of The Madalay Bay Shooter, which slammed into his neck as he rose from cover to help some young women to safety.
Johnathan’s brother is a big Country Music fan and their families traveled to Vegas to take in the I-91 Festival.
Seated near the stage, they realized something was up when Jason Aldean and his band retreated to the wings.
That’s when Johnathan sprung into action….

“Smith told his nine family members to hold hands and run to the exit, he told The Washington Post.
When his three nieces got separated in the crowd, Smith went back toward the stage looking for them. Along the way, he saw some people hiding and others panicking.
“I ran back toward the shooting and there was one lady that was on the ground,” Smith told “Good Morning America.” “I basically helped her up and just told her just to run. I basically just told her, ‘We got to go.’”
He directed some people to follow him away from Las Vegas Boulevard into a field with rows of cars, where they crouched to hide. When he stood to help a few girls who weren’t completely hidden, he was shot in the neck.”
Doctors have told Johnathan that he may have to live with the bullet in his neck for the rest of his life to avoid further damage….
There are many people that will live with him in their hearts for the rest of theirs.
