If we have learned anything from watching the last week of explosive allegations surrounding Alabama bigot and Christian bullshit artist Roy Moore, it’s that narcissistic predatory pricks like Moore and Trump will do anything but admit their own culpability in any and all events. Yesterday I wrote about a “letter of support” purportedly endorsed by 50 pastors that Moore’s website published and Moore’s wife Kayla also promoted on her Facebook page. The letter explained how everyone should vote for GOP Senate candidate Moore and that this was a clear conspiratorial attack on a good Christian man fighting the good fight in the “culture wars” of our times.
At the time of the article I found it strange that AL.com had reported that the single person they contacted from the letter’s list of pastors said they had not given their consent to be attached in any way to such a letter of support for Roy Moore. While writing that diary I sent out emails attempting to contact some of the names on the list. In some cases the email addresses were not valid, and in other cases I could not find that person anywhere on the internet. But that story was passed around, and ThinkProgress has a very interesting update!
Pastor Joseph Smith of Pine Air Baptist Church in Grand Bay also told Alabama Fox affiliate FOX 10 that while he supported Moore in the primary, he no longer supports the candidate and did not agree to include his name on the new list.

Another pastor whose name and church match one listed on letter, Dr. George Grant of Parish Presbyterian Church, does not live in Alabama—his church is located in Franklin, Tennessee. He told local Tennessee new station WSMV that he did not give permission for his name to be on the new list, adding that while he knows Moore, he hasn’t spoken to him in 10 years.
“Not my state. Not my issues,” Grant said of the upcoming Alabama election, in which Moore is running for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Pastor Thad Endicott also asked his name be taken off the list printed up by AL.com. Many of the names on the list were people that had previously supported Moore and had even signed letters of support for Moore surrounding issues like same-sex marriage.
That list also includes some who have told news organizations they continue to support suspected child molester Roy Moore.
