An enormous “boom” was heard and registered by Alabama citizens and NASA instruments Tuesday night. Al.com reports that it was heard and it was seen but nobody knows what it was.
NASA scientists in Huntsville, Ala., said Tuesday night that the origin of a mysterious boom that rocked central Alabama earlier Tuesday "remains unclear." The evidence so far is pointing toward a large meteor or some kind of supersonic aircraft.
The sound was reported to multiple Birmingham area law enforcement agencies and to officials in Arab, Anniston, Hayden, Kimberly, Center Point, Jasper and Gardendale, among other places.
Reddit users had some fun things to say about this sonic mystery.
PaulsRedditUsername explained:
"It was as if a thousand Keurigs hit the ground all at once..."
7777777ZZZZZZZ wondered:
The implosion of Roy Moore's campaign?
reik483 posited:
Man, they really pissed off God this time. Maybe using the Virgin Mary to defend a child molester was a bad idea?
kerbaal went old-timey:
I know its unlikely, but, I really hope the final answer involves whiskey, an internet connection, and a fundamental misunderstanding of why Darwins are awarded.
Maybe someone in our community has an answer to this mystery (and I don’t want to hear about aircraft or meteor which is what it probably is).
