Normally, you couldn’t find a Republican politician who gives a damn about your health-care costs if you had a dowsing rod, a tricorder, Diogenes’ lamp, and the combined sensory powers of Wolverine, Daredevil, Spider-Man and Superman. So imagine my surprise to see one of our state delegates from that side of the aisle taking the time to express his concern about the issue:
Danica Roem’s real agenda
If you think insurance premiums are high now, just wait until Virginia Del.-elect Danica Roem’s legislation to force insurance companies to cover “sex change” operations takes effect….
Too bad The Post did not write this article before the election to fully inform voters about Ms. Roem’s real agenda….
There’s a bit more, but that’s about all I think I can justify as “fair use” for an original this short. Well, just in case some of you aren’t familiar with this particular race, maybe I ought to include the post-letter editorial note:
The writer, a Republican who represents Prince William County in the Virginia House, lost to Democrat Danica Roem in the Nov. 7 elections.
Well, now. I’m starting to suspect that Del. Marshall isn’t really all that concerned about common people’s health care costs at all. Why, I’m getting the idea that he’s just being a childish sore loser!
After reading the comment thread on the letter (71 comments at this writing, which is about 70 more than a typical Letter to the Editor gets), I seem to have plenty of company in that regard.
