Dear Kos Folks :
I have finally joined Daily Kos to write this piece about the controversy surrounding Senator Al Franken and Fox Reporter Leeann Tweeden.
In 2004, Al Franken wrote a book entitled: Lies: And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right . Apparently although it was a New York Times Best Seller, there was no “take-away” from those on the Left? What must a person do, Left-Leaners? What is the significance of Franken’s use of the words “Fair and Balanced” in the title? Anyone?
We are probably not going to get any investigation of Senator Franken, so it is going to remain, I guess, a “he said, she said” argument. Actually, I’m fine with that. I’m fine with it because Fox Broadcasting is an equal liar opportunity company. We gals can get hired if you can lie with the guys. (In some cases, you may have to bed with them, but that’s for another day...) In case I’m still unclear, her job is to lie. Also, to be a model or look like one.
So when I read that Al Franken, one of my heroes, who has supported women and women’s rights, and has lived it in his relationships with female staff, family, and peers, is being accused by a Fox employee of acting dishonorably to her, I say, “Wow, they really want to sideline this guy who has hard-questioned all of Trump’s Cabinet picks.” Because that’s what is going on here. Shame on all of you who don’t think she lies. Dupes!
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Leila
