Earlier this month, Virginia Democrats sent a resounding message to the nation and world that we stand for much more than the division coming out of the Oval Office and Washington. Among the wave-defining victories of November 7th was in Virginia House District 31, where first time candidate Elizabeth Guzman shutdown 14-year Republican Incumbent Scott Lingamfelter. Her victory gives her the distinction as one of the two Latinas who are the first to be elected to the Virginia State House.
Her winning streak is just getting started, too. Recently, the 15 newly-elected Democratic Delegates held an election for freshman class president. Elizabeth emerged victorious from that election too, and will now preside over one of the biggest Democratic freshmen classes in Virginia history!
