Five hundred anti-Trump protesters greeted Trump on his visit to Hawaii. Billed as “No Aloha For Trump”, two rallies were scheduled entitled “Hawai’i vs Trump” and “This Nightmare Must End.”
State Representative, Kaniela Ing, who is running for Congresswoman Hanabusa’s position has made Climate Change one of his top three issues and participated with a sign saying “Aloha Means Goodbye.” You may remember this young progressive fighting for LGBT right to marry - an uphill battle in a state dominated by very conservative Mormons and Christians.
Humor was the watchword of the day. In this crowd shot, you can see the sign, “We shall Over Comb.” The crowd shouted “Hey, hey. Ho, ho. Donald Trump must go.” Signs of “Hawaii: 3, Trump: 0” referring to Hawaii’s court wins on the Muslim Ban were prevalent.
A sad commentary on the state of the GOP in Hawai’i was that only five pro-Trump supporters showed up.
