MN Gov. Mark Dayton announced this week he will appoint Lt. Gov. Tina Smith to the U.S. Senate seat held by Al Franken who is resigning. USA Today says Minnesota is the best-run state in the nation according to a study of various indicators including poverty, unemployment, credit rating and economic outlook, and how well pensions are funded. Wisconsin? Ranks 20th, and Kansas, that other Midwest libertarian paradise Republicans want us so badly to emulate: 35!
Well-run state, but lousy drivers, according to another study released this week that ranks Minnesota drivers as second worst in the country. Good thing MnDOT is testing driverless vehicles, maybe it’s time we all handed over our car keys.
